Treasure Valley Catholic Sports - "In Jesus we all Win"

If meeting more Catholics and exercising are two of your "2008 resolutions" -- look no further!  "Treasure Valley Catholic Sports" (TVCS) is a activities-based ministry serving young adults through six (6) organized, high-quality, efficiently run, coed*  sporting events. We are committed to enriching the lives of participants spiritually and socially. While geared toward Catholics, we welcome participants from all faiths, our activities are co-ed and are open to all skill levels and to those newer to a sport who simply want to enjoy Christian fellowship.

How is TVCS going to happen, well honestly, in two ways: through interest and volunteers.  So, if you are interested in participating and/or volunteering, please e-mail us at tvyamtalk@gmail.com and let us know your name, phone, e-mail, parish (unaffiliated is okay!), the activities you are interested in, and if you would like to volunteer for the leadership team or a specific event.  TVCS will happen only if catholic young adults want to make it happen!

Vatican Support for Sports Ministry
Pope John Paul II, for whom soccer was a passion in his youth, explained that the Church "considers sports as an instrument of education when it fosters high human and spiritual ideals; when it forms youth in an integral way in values such as loyalty, perseverance, friendship, solidarity and peace."

"Surmounting differences of cultures and ideologies, sports offers an ideal occasion for dialogue and understanding among peoples, for building the desired civilization of love," the Pope added.

The Holy Father…appealed "to put into practice these values, based on the dignity of the human person, in face of possible interests that might darken the nobility of sports itself.“ (Pope John Paul II,
Castel Gandolfo, Italy, 9/16/02)
